The Canton Committee for Development for the implementation of the Development Strategy of the West Herzegovina Canton is an advisory and operational body in the process of development management.

Tasks and role of the Committee in the implementation process of the Development Strategy of the West Herzegovina Canton for the period 2014-2020 are as follows: advisory support for the process of drafting the annual and three-year operational plans of the Development Strategy according to the developmental priorities and measures as established within the framework of integrated or sectoral development strategies; advisory support and participation in the development of sectoral development strategies, local development strategies and development strategies in the Federation of BH; coordination, advisory support and active participation in the programming process of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance of the EU and other programs and funds which are of interest to the Canton; advisory role in the process of compliance of the budget and the public investment programs with the development priorities as defined in the approved strategic documents; activities on the preparation of incentive mechanisms for financing or co-financing development priorities as established in the Development Strategy; advisory support and coordination of development and implementation of projects as identified in the Development Strategy in cooperation with relevant state, entity, Canton ministries / institutions, neighboring counties, cities and municipalities, contributing to the realization of development priorities; coordination of monitoring process, evaluation and reporting on the realization of the Development Strategy; ensuring transparency in the processes of planning, programming and implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting regarding all activities in relation to the operationalization of the Development Strategy; other tasks awarded by the Government, in relation to the operationalization of the Development Strategy.

The Committee, in coordination with the Office for European Integration of the Government of the West Herzegovina Canton, has an active role in the process of development management.
